Fundraising for The DBARC (20th March 2017)

Year 7 and 8 pupils visited the Diana Brimblecombe Centre, as part of an English Department focus on ‘Animals in Literature’. Pupils have been reading The Butterfly Lion, by Michael Morpurgo and exploring the work of the World Wildlife Fund, in protecting endangered species.

Closer to home, the Diana Brimblecombe Centre gives shelter, medical care and love to pets who need re-homing.

Our pupils were so moved by the plight of these gentle, loving animals that they set to work, baking and icing a mountain of cakes.

We held a Brimblecombe Bake-Off and our cake sale raised the magnificent sum of £75.00 for the charity.

Well done boys and special thanks to Mrs. Fletcher and her team for the wonderful help and guidance they gave in the kitchens, to Burley Lodge Equestrian Centre for their generous donation and to Mrs. Paul for the samosas which sold out instantly!
